About Temposia

Temposia is an interactive atlas of the Solar System — a place to explore every planet, moon, and minor world in real-time 3D, and to read a clear, sourced account of each one.

What Temposia is

Temposia brings together two things that usually live apart: a hands-on 3D explorer and a written reference. In the explorer you can spin any world in real time, rendered from real texture maps and placed on its actual orbit. Alongside it, every body in our catalogue has its own article — a plain-language, factually grounded account of what it is, how it formed, and what makes it worth knowing. The aim is a Solar System you can both play with and actually learn from.

Our data and sources

The figures on Temposia — radii, masses, orbital and rotation periods, temperatures — come from primary sources: NASA planetary fact sheets, IAU mean orbital elements, and mission data from NASA/JPL and ESA. Each body page lists the specific references it draws on. Where a value is uncertain or debated, as it often is for small and distant worlds, we say so rather than inventing false precision.

How we write

Every article is written and edited for Temposia — not scraped, not auto-published. We aim for accuracy first and readability second: real feature names, real dates, and no filler. Claims are checked against authoritative sources, and pages are revised as new observations come in. If you spot an error, we want to hear about it.

The 3D explorer

The interactive explorer is built with WebGL and three.js. It runs entirely in your browser — no install and no account — and is designed to make the scale and motion of the Solar System something you can feel rather than only read about.
